Since I arrived in Paris, line 7 has punctuated my life. I have always either lived, worked, or had my activities on this line. Meeting these travelers every day made me want to keep a memory, a trace of them. The portraits I made of them are not stolen images but snapshots. They are aware of my presence.
I wanted to both paint a portrait of these strangers very regularly met but also show their recurring activities. The metro is conducive to reading, drowsiness, reflection, meditation…
During three years, during my journeys, I observed and photographed them.
